Before you get Strafe there is really no good skill to use when the DH is surrounded. The reason being similar to the Rapid Fire skill. The second skill, Strafe, also made me chuckle. What that means is that you can't win all the time, but when you need to the Rapid Fire will get you out of tricky situations you know you can't overcome by just using primary attack. This is combined that is costs quite much Hatred so you can't use it ALL the time. When using Rapid Fire you get the feeling I was describing in the beginning, but it feels like you're winning. Both of these skills literally made me laugh the first time I used them.
The two skills that stood out the most were Rapid Fire and Strafe. It seeks out enemies so you can't miss = very reliable. As for primary skills I like to keep it simple, reliable, fast but still making a difference damage-wise. Hungering Arrow is the perfect primary skill, it's not too weak but it's not too spectacular either. In my opinion, the DH has the most fun skills out of all the classes. But since it doesn't do instant damage you feel very unsafe if you're using this as your primary attack (which it is labeled to be with the new UI skill system).Īpart from bola being wrongly assigned, every skill was either fun - very fun. This skill would be perfect it it was costing Hatred, not be a primary attack and perhaps be more powerful. It's the only primary attack (I know of.) that doesn't cause instant damage. That was exciting.Īs for the skills, I understand why bola has received much hate.
When fighting more than 8 enemies at once I found myself thinking "oh sh*t die die die WAAH he's too close die die die". It feels like you're a lone warrior spraying the evil demons with arrows as you scream with a mixture of fear and rage. I just finished a playthrough of the DH in the beta and it was by far the most fun class to play. Arrows miss due to large hitboxes, the DH doesn't have any strong skills, DH runs out of resources quickly etc. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that the DH has received much criticism over the last few months.
